New course: The Art of Doing: A Beginners Look at Android Studio

I was enrolled in this course on Tue, Aug 3, 2021. So it was free that time!

Done! Section 1: Installation and Setup

Nah, I started my coding journey on a Chromebook in 2020 by taking a lot of online courses... oh yeah...

Then I got another Chromebook. Why? I let my kids watch YouTube on my first Chromebook, and I also started CBS, so I needed something to do my stuff... I took online courses at CBS as well, as there was a COVID-19 lockdown in Denmark.

Huu, when I finished around 30-40 courses in coding, then I purchased the computer, which I still use right now!

Yeap! It is a more than 5-year-old computer with limited options. I bought it in Bilka, in Ishøj.

So generally, it is a good computer, but it did not have enough memory and similar things to run 5-10 coding-related programs at the same time and use WIFI, instead of a stable internet connection....

But, I did what I could!

I still studied a lot, and I still study a lot.

Right now, I am working on how to recover 10 years of lost data.

Yeah, this kind of shit happened to me...

So, when you jump into a course or a program, then read the requirements, it will save you from a lot of struggling...

So this Section 1 shares a lot of important information, including when you can make changes in the settings, and check things, like Minimum SDK.

"Your app will run on approximately ... % of devices."

It is very important to choose well.

Why? If it makes the device too slow, there is a higher chance that the users will delete the app very fast.

I do always. If an app takes up too many places, what I think is not necessary, or if an app is too slow, I delete it in less than a minute. And I try to find replacement apps, and never go back there, even if they make updates.

What do I mean?

On YouTube, some videos are super slow, so I listen to them at speed 2.

But some videos are so super super slow, that even speed 2 is horribly slow...

Now YouTube has a speed 3, but you need to pay for it...

I would not pay for speed 3, maximum speed 4!

Why? Usually, updates, in most of the cases, are just extra decorations and useful things...

So why did I like this Android Studio, as I could make and see different surfaces, like how it would be on different sizes of phones? You can also see how much space it takes.

If you make an app for a target group that is not so creative, then you want to impress them with beautiful digital solutions, but it may take more space on the disc, if you don't choose well the size of the pictures, and more...

BUT! If you make an app for a target group who is anyway creative, they may look for simple solutions. Why? As you cannot satisfy them, they always find something else creative. So just go for the basics, the minimum, the function, the solution that you can offer them...

I also studied UI and UX....

Back to Section 1:

Parts:

 - Installation and Introduction

- Creating A Project

- Using A virtual Device

- Using A Physical Device

1. So check your target group!

2. Check the size!

3. Focus on to who you are selling!
